IN the week that has seen Brazilian World Cup legend Ronaldo hang up his boots it seems as though a nine-year-old English replacement might be waiting in the wings.

Little Brad Manning just cannot stop scoring and has just notched his 100th goal for the Spartak 78 under nine’s team – it has only taken him 61 games.

After the Saffron Walden youngster grabbed his fifth hat-trick of 2010/11 on Saturday against Saffron Walden Town at Catons Lane, his coach Keith Mullins said: “Brad joined us four years ago and during that period he has played 58 league games and three knockout cup matches.

“He has now scored a total of 102 league and cup goals, including 30 so far this season with the prospect of more to come.

“Playing up front or on the wing, he scores regularly with long range shots, with headers, and also his quick-thinking and deft footwork that makes him particularly lethal anywhere inside the penalty area.”
