Saffron Walden Town U18s hit double figures at home to Lakeside Corinthians to advance in the Essex FA U18 Pelly Cup.

Walden were in control from the start and, when Jack Gosden set George Chappell free down the right wing, his cross was met by Jack Morris to put the young Bloods 1-0 ahead after five minutes.

Town dominated the remainder of the half, however, despite their high pressure, only one more goal was added, when a Gosden cross was bundled over the line by Jack Young.

Within five minutes of the second half restart, three goals from Young, Chappell and Felix Hannam put Walden 5-0 up.

The sixth goal soon followed, with captain Young, completing his hat-trick with a well taken goal.

Hannam was the provider of the seventh, Chappell converting his cross from the left and when Young’s corner was headed home by Morris, Walden found themselves 8-0 up with 20 minutes still left on the clock.

The ninth goal was expertly finished by Forster, scoring his first goal for the U18s.

Hannam made it 10-0 soon after and, just before the final whistle, Truett was involved again, this time finding Garrett to slot home.
