BLOODS supporters can now pick up season tickets to watch the team’s quest for promotion.

Saffron Walden Town Football Club have priced the tickets, which allow entry to all of the first team’s home league fixtures at Catons Lane next season, at £60 for adults and £30 concessions. It works out at a saving of £12 and £6, respectively.

Vice chairman Martin Johnson said: “A lot of people have been asking whether they can get season tickets for what we hope will be the first team’s big push for promotion. We are delighted to be able to give them that opportunity.

“The first game of the season will be against Great Yarmouth at home and we are hoping to see a bumper crowd to start the season off with a bang.”

The Bloods took two teams to play friendly matches at White Notley last Saturday. The 1st XI ran out 1-0 victors thanks to a Joe Murphy goal, while the 2nd XI thumped their opponents 7-0, with Graeme Turner (2), Max Drane (2), Peter Davies, Spike Bell and Kyle Jaggar getting the goals.

Meanwhile, at a meeting last week the roles for the new committee were agreed. Paul Daw was re-elected as president, along with Melvyn Seymour as chairman, Mr Johnson as vice chairman and Phil Strong as treasurer. Mr Johnson and Mr Daw have also agreed to share secretary responsibilities, with the former now board secretary and the latter match and fixture secretary on a temporary basis.
