Saffron Walden Town’s record unbeaten streak, and their advantage in the race for automatic promotion, came to an end on Saturday.

Swaffham Town beat Stuart Wardley’s Bloods 3-0 at Catons Lane to leapfrog them in the Thurlow Nunn First Division table. Walden, whose run of unbeaten games ended at 24, dropped to third in the table.

Joe Jackson paved the way with the only goal of the first-half before Alex Vincent and Matthew Castellan scored within 90 seconds of one another to wrap up the victory and jump up to second in the table.

Walden will look to bounce back on Saturday at Great Yarmouth.
