Saffron Walden Town U11 Blues stroll to five-a-side tournament victory

A powerful and pacey U11 Saffron Walden team won the five-a-side football tournament held at Herbert’s Farm.

In their group stage, they breezed past Spartak S, Plantation Youth and Royston before drawing 1-1 to Spartak Blacks. The final group game saw them win dish out a 7-0 thrashing to Bishop’s Stortford.

They ran out comfortable winners against Stortford again in the semi-finals, winning 4-0.

Walden faced Spartak Blacks in the final and raced into a two-goal lead with a brace from Amrik Braico, and then kept their defensive discipline to see the match out and become worthy winners.

Walden’s players were James Inkley, Amrik Braico, Simi Sangha, Jacob Park, Finley Coxall, Ethan Dorrington and Matthew Orris.
