SPARTAK 78 uder-10s travelled deep into Fenland country to the home of Chatteris Town Youth in their end of season tournament campaign.

They returned victorious winners of the five-aside tournament following a quite remarkable turn of events in the group stage.

They started brightly winning 2-1 in their opening match against Chesterton Eagles with goals from Sammy and Hudson and managed a series of draws with Estover Park (0-0), Alconbury Blue (3-3) and Wisbech St Marys (1-1).

It meant Spartak needed a 5-0 win or better in the final group game against the hosts Chatteris to advance into the knock stage on goal difference. They achieved that feat in some style, overrunning their opponents to run out 7-1 winners (Kaine 2, Hudson 2, Ethan 2 and Adam the goalscorers).

They went on to knock four goals past Shelford and Stapleford to book a place in the final against Ramsey Colts – a game which they won 2-0 thanks to goals from Ethan and Hudson.
