Spartak 78 3 Coton Colts 4
IN an exciting finale the Coton goalkeeper defied Spartak with a series of excellent saves to cap off a match-winning performance for his team.
Spartak started well and after coming close several times they took the lead when a shot from striker Andy Amaro just dipped under the bar.
Within 10 minutes Coton had got themselves in front with two goals, and they added a third before half time.
Spartak started quickly in the second half got one back after good work by Charlie Cox set up Daniel Bunting, who forced the ball home from close range.
Minutes later Spartak were unlucky when a deflection left the Spartak keeper with no chance as Coton’s two-goal lead was restored. But midway through the hosts scored the goal of the game, Gabe McBride finishing off a well-worked goal which involved a series of one-two passes.
However, despite tested the visiting keeper on several occasions, Spartak could not force the equaliser.
Langford Youth 1 Manuden 2
A TOP of the table clash in the Royston Crow league saw Manuden travelling to Langford Youth and coming away with a hard-fought victory which secures them the champions title with one game remaining.
Langford took the lead in the first half but Manuden came back strongly in the second half with a clinical finish from Oli Bontoft and a winner from Josh Wilkins.

SPARTAK took an early lead against Sawbridgeworth Town when skipper Daniel Mullins ghosted in unmarked at the back post to head home a well-placed corner from Hudson Rees-Jones after five minutes.

More chances followed for both teams before Spartak keeper Vojta Korner bravely saved taking the ball in the face to keep out an onrushing Sawbridgeworth striker. Minutes later Korner made a good diving save however after a period of sustained pressure Sawbridgeworth equalised when Spartak failed to clear the ball from their penalty area, with a firm shot into the goal.
Spartak regained the lead when Tom Bower bundled the ball home after a good run and cross from Harry Hood.
The second half saw both teams battle hard, but it was Spartak who wrapped up the win from the penalty spot, Bower stepping up to convert.
Manuden 2 Elsenham 1
IN a local derby at Rickling Playing fields, Manuden came from behind to beat Elsenham with goals from James Murfitt and a potential goal of the season from Brad Godfrey.
