Saffron Dynamos were held to a 0-0 draw at the Barracks on Saturday as bottom side Sawston United A proved too tough a nut to crack.

After the narrow defeat to second-place Cherry Hinton A before the Christmas break, Dynamos made five changes as Daniel Rowlandson, Ben Start, Sam Mitchell, Harry Bond and captain Ryan Barry all returned to the starting line-up.

With the wind playing havoc again, Dynamos kicked off into it but despite this they soon made some useful raids into the visitors’ half creating some good chances.

Sawston kept trying to break though but Dynamos held firm and looked solid against a succession of corners and number of attacks.

Into the second half, with the wind behind them, it was Dynamos’ turn to pressure the visitors who before the game had shipped 40 goals already this season. At least five good chances came Dynamos’ way but the cool heads required in front of goal were missing as their luck evaded them and the game ended goalless.

In the end Dynamos were disappointed not to come away with all three points against struggling Sawston.

This Saturday, Dynamos host Buckden Reserves. Kick-off is 2pm.
