A FEBRUARY skiing trip has once again allowed students to enjoy life on the piste and also experience the ups and more importantly the downs of the winter sport.

The half term school trip has become a bit of a legend in its own lifetime at saffron Walden County High School and this year was no exception.

The clamour for places way back in March 2010 culminated in a party of 152 departing from the UK last week for a six-day ski course in the Italian Dolomites resort of Falcade.

The 137 students enjoyed excellent skiing conditions, great Italian hospitality and of course a range of aprs ski activities, including ice skating, karaoke and disco/club night at a local venue.

Hazel Wilkinson from the school’s PE department said: “The atmosphere throughout the trip was outstanding and the level of progress made by the student skiers was, once again, jaw-droppingly good.”
