CFC SHALFORD progressed in the Essex County Junior Cup thanks to a hard-fought victory in Clacton.

Socretez, a technically gifted team, constantly posed a threat but a solid performance again by the Shalford defensive brigade saw the opportunities kept to a minimum.

The second half saw CFC push the game up a gear to Socretez again and quite clearly muscled them out of the game both physically and mentally, Shalford simply wanted the game more than Socretez and with some excellent tackling and determination throughout the team saw the visitors control the remainder of the game.
Socretez had a last gasp chance in the last minute where their striker found himself clear on goal only to scuff it.
