Saffron Seals swimmers claimed a number of personal best times and medals in the first leg of the Essex Mini League at Rochford, on Saturday.

The final result was: Romford 190 points, Rochford 167, Braintree 144, Seals 140, Havering 80. The second round will be held on May 10 at Harlow.

Meanwhile, the Essex Swimming League continues, and last Saturday Seals travelled to Colchester to compete in the third round. Once again there were some new names in the squad, and several of the swimmers were asked to compete in higher age groups, but still managing to achieve five PB times.

Braintree & Bocking were overall winners, with 223 points, but it was closely matched for the other places – Harwich 138, Seals 131, Hornchurch 130, Barking & Dagenham 84. The fourth and final round of this league will take place on May 17, at Braintree.
