Three-sy win at promotion rivals Norwich City put Saffron Walden Ladies top of the pile

Deed Hill, Liv Banks and Millie Bushnell were on target as Saffron Walden Hockey Club ladies jumped back to the top of East League Division 1N with a 3-1 victory at previous leaders Norwich City.

The game was end-to-end from the start and a deadly counter-attack allowed Walden to strike first through Hill.

The visitors added to Hill’s opener when Banks took a one-on-one with the keeper with expert calmness.

Then, Bushnell made it three with a deflected short corner. The second half was all about City’s attacking and strong away defence and while Norwich did grab a consolation, goalkeeper Clare Pargeterl made a number of good saves to secure the win.
