Saffron Walden booked a place in the final of the Goddard Cup after beating CAGU Scratch League champions Gog Magog.

Brown and Southall took on Quinney and Dimambro in the first foursomes, winning one up on the last.

In the second match Burlingham and Tuck took on Williams and Rodgers and were four up at the turn.

Tuck’s six iron to the eighth green landed a foot away as they went on to win 2&1.

Martin and MacDonald played steady golf to win one up, but Goodman and Fraser were beaten 3&1 by Hughes and Rust as Walden led 3-1.

In the singles, an excellent 6&5 win by Goodman, an historic two up win by Burlingham over Quinney, Southall’s 3&2 win over Rodgers, Tuck’s one up win over Diss and MacDonald’s one up win over Williams sealed victory, 8.5-3.5.

Walden will face either Ramsey or St Neots in their first final since 2014, when they won the silverware.
