Walden Tri blast round Cambridge

It was a busy weekend for Walden Tri and in particular new member Adam Wardle.
He and some clubmates competed in the World and European Duathlon qualification event at Rutland Water. This involved running 10k, cycling 42k and running another 5k.
First home was Matt Switzer placing 28th in the 30-34 age group with in a time of 2.19.18, closely followed by Wardle in the 40-44 age group in 2.23.27. Also competing in the 40-44 age group was Robert Gould in 2.41.47.
The next day the club was out in considerable force with 15 athletes including Wardle yet again, competing in the Cambridge Half Marathon.
First home for the club was Brendan Moran broke the 1.30 benchmark with an impressive 1.29.18, with Simon Page knocking over two minutes off his personal best with 1.32.33
Jess Bloomfield was first lady home with a time of 1.32 59 which placed her 28th out of over 1440 female athletes. She was closely pursued by Sarah Switzer with another outstanding result in 32nd place with 1.33.48
Chloe Brown was also delighted to knock over two minutes of her 2008 PB in 1.57.45 on what was a very successful day for the club.
