IN a busy night Saffron Walden’s Tri-style MMA had five guys fighting on the card at the 5 elements K1 and MMA show in Basildon.

First up, James De Veirs fought a Kickboxing demo fight after his first opponent dropped out. He showed great balance with some fancy kicking and deft foot work to set the show off to a great start.

Next, Paul Loveridge fighting heavyweight K1, dominated his fight with flying kicks to the head to get the crowd on their feet. However, his luck changed as in the dying seconds of round three he suffered an eye injury and the referee stopped the match.

Third to fight was Jason Bartram who bravely swapped from K1 to traditional kickboxing after a no-show from his opponent. Despite being out of his comfort zone he gave a good account of himself but was knocked down by an accurate kick.

Cruiserweight K1 and in no mood to hang around was Ed Crace-Eales, in can what only be described as a totally awesome display of clinch fighting. Ed destroyed his tall Latvian opponent and gave himself a chance at the European title.

Last to fight was Andy Welsh fighting heavyweight MMA. Boosted by Ed’s wins Andy was in a good mind set with startling agility for big guy he dictated his fight from start to finish and won by unanimous points decision.
