Four WaldenTRI members have qualified to represent Great Britain at the upcoming Duathlon World Championships in Spain.

Georgina Dunlop, Matt Bainbridge and Michael Buchallet all secured their spots following the Bedford Sprint which was the second and last qualification event for the 2016 Sprint Distance Duathlon World Championships.

Club-mate Craig Dyce had already pre-qualified following last year’s successes.

The four WaldenTri members were joined by Leon Bozianu and Douglas Bowen in the event held at the Bedford Autodrome motor racing track, designed by former F1 driver Jonathan Palmer.

The cold and fog didn’t dampen their determination to race around the smooth, fast tarmac of the racing track and they were rewarded with some brilliant performances.

Dunlop was sixth in her 35-39 age group, Bozianu was 13th in the 15-19 age group, Bowen 29th in 40-44 age group and Bainbridge fourth in 35-39 age group.

Dyce and Buchallet respectively finished first and second in 45-49 category.
