A superhero-themed yoga class for charity is happening this weekend (September 24).

Dressing up for the two hour class is encouraged, and all the proceeds will be given to the Air Ambulance.

The organiser, Sarah Toward, is a professional Iyengar yoga teacher throughout Essex and Herts - a type of yoga that focuses on detail, precision and alignment to improve posture and breathing control.

Sarah decided to put on the event after a child she knows was rescued by the charity and she found out the air ambulance has to fund raise to survive.

She said: “I was thinking about how vital the air ambulance is and that’s why I’m doing this. All the proceeds can go to the real heroes so they can carry on saving lives.”

This falls as part of National Air Ambulance week, which is from September 19 to 25, where fund raisers for the charity are nationwide.

Her classes are normally £12 for an hour and a half – but this special event is free, with any donation that patrons feel is appropriate accepted.

She said: “I will be Spiderman because when I headstand it looks like I am hanging from a web.”

From 1pm-3pm at St Micheals Mead Community Centre, Bishops Stortford, all levels welcome, book with Sarah on 07427596961 or contact TowardYoga@gmail.com.
