Arts fair in Saffron Walden set to raise cash for Carver Barrack’s Injured Soldiers Fund and Shake-a-Leg Theatre Company

PUBLISHED: 15:40 12 November 2010

SAFFRON Walden Arts Trust (SWAT) will be holding a special fair this weekend to raise money for the Mayor’s chosen charities.

It will showcase paintings, pottery, photographs, hand-made marble papers, jewellery and textiles with all the money raised going to Carver Barrack’s Injured Soldiers Fund and the Shake-a-Leg Theatre Company.

All the art on show will be from local artists.

SWAT members and their friends are invited to a private viewing on Friday evening, with mayor Bob Eastham formally opening the event. Tickets are £5 on the door or from the TIC, and the evening is an ideal opportunity to browse at leisure and listen to music from the Nightingale Trio. All money raised will go to the mayor’s chosen charities.

The fair continues on Saturday November 13 from 9.30am-5.30pm, and Sunday November 14 from 10am-4pm. Entry is free and there will be tea and cakes on sale.
