AN 80-minute film about a day in the life of Saffron Walden is set to be screened in the town next weekend.

WALDEN 24 was put together by Saffron Walden Initiative.

Chairman Peter Riding said: “We are very excited about the film being shown at Saffron Screen at 2pm on Saturday September 18 and then at 8pm on Sunday September 19.

“We believe that the film provides an enthralling insight into the workings of a market town in 2010.

“The cast is the people of Saffron Walden as toddlers, school children, teenagers, commuters, stall holders, retailers, professionals, volunteers, singers, musicians, artists, gardeners, competitors, learners, reporters, manufacturers, employees, managers, educators, divers, skaters and keep fitters. Also, the film crews, editor, producer and musicians all come from the Saffron Walden area.

“For those who can’t view it at Saffron Screen the film can be ordered as a DVD for £12 including postage and packing - forms are available at the Tourist Information Centre or from the Initiative website at swinitiative.org.”
