Classical, Gospel and Alleluia! for Saffron Walden Choral Society

PUBLISHED: 09:59 19 September 2010

A seasoned opener

SAFFRON Walden Choral Society has an exciting Autumn season ahead, full of celebratory music performed in St Mary’s Church.

It all kicks off on Saturday November 6 with Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle.

The season will also include the traditional Spirit of Christmas concerts on December 4. In 2011 there is a singing day on January 29, ‘Go Gospel’, Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna /Mozart’s Requiem on March 19 and a Summer Prom Alleluia on June 18. Rehearsals for Petite Messe Solennelle began on Monday and any singers who would like to join the choir are warmly invited to attend a rehearsal.

The choir includes many experienced singers and also those with less experience, so whatever your level you’re very welcome to try them out.

Tickets for the concert are £15 (£12 concessions) and are available from the society’s box office by calling 01799 531127 or e-mailing, from Saffron Walden Tourist Information Centre, and from SWCS members.
