Kathryn Tickell and her new band, The Darkening, will play at Saffron Hall

Multi-award winning folk musician Kathryn Tickell, a BBC Radio 2 Folk Artist of the Year and winner of the Queen’s Medal for Music, will play at Saffron Hall on Friday April 5 and we have a pair of tickets for a reader to win.

This concert features her new band The Darkening playing material from their new album.

Kathryn started playing the Northumbrian pipes aged nine. For her, tradition is about the present and the future, as well as the past, whether playing with Evelyn Glennie or Sting, her music communicates vibrantly and poetically in the here and now.

To enter the competition, tell us the name of Kathryn Tickell’s new band.

Email your answer with Kathryn Tickell in the subject line, with your name, full postal address and telephone number, to or by Monday, April 1. Usual Archant competition rules apply.

Concert 7.30pm. Tickets, £8-£20 or 0845 548 7650.
