Practice makes perfect: Janet Wheeler with the SignuptoSing choir

WATCH out for some West End sparkle in Saffron Walden on Friday night (April 1), as composer and conductor Janet Wheeler leads the SignuptoSing youth choir in a performance inspired by two hit musicals.

Renditions of the ever-popular Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and a selection of familiar classics from the world’s longest running musical, Les Misérables, will come to life.

A group of over 55 talented singers will share out the solos, and many are already seasoned performers, so they will inject “infectious enthusiasm,” according to Wheeler.

She added: “The concert will include other classical choral pieces, by Mozart and Purcell and the intimate setting of the Baptist Church will provide the perfect atmosphere in which to enjoy this entertaining and varied programme.

“Please support these young singers as they step into the spotlight, some of them for the first time.”

The concert begins at 7.30pm and is expected to last one hour. Tickets are adults £6 (under 18s free) and available from Steph Green on 01799 521614 or from the Saffron Walden Tourist Information Centre. Visit
