The band has worked for Elton John, who apparently said they were “the best band of their kind in the world” and Paul Macartney and at venues including The Cavern in Liverpool and London’s 02.

The event is being organised by Hatfield Broad Walking Foodball Club, which has male and female members ranging in age from 57 upwards, the oldest having just retired at the age of 80.

Event organiser, Mike Kenny said: “We are hoping to raise money for the air ambulance because you never know when you will need it. It’s always busy and it’s under-funded, it’s not funded by the NHS, it relies on charitable donations.”

Licensed bar but no food. From 7.30pm to 11.30pm. Tickets £20 from 01279 718417. The village hall is at Cage End, Hatfield Broad Oak, CM22 7LQ.
