What’s on this half-term in Saffron Walden and Great Dunmow

Here’s a round up of some of the fun activities for all the family for half-term next week.
February 14-18, art workshops linked to a new exhibition Life in an English Village, inspired by the work of the Bardfield Artists. Make art to take home. Workshops are free with admission and run 11am-1pm. Advance booking essential. 01376 328868.
Tuesday, February 14: Dazzling Decorations. Design and decorate your own heart decoration, picture frame or 3D lettering.
Wednesday, February 15: Painting with Nature. Paint using only natural materials.
Thursday, February 16: Stained Glass Windows. Be inspired by the museum’s to make your own.
Friday, February 17: Marvellous Mosaics. Create a mosaic.
Tuesdays-Saturdays 10am-4pm. Adults £4, concessions £3, children £2 (under-fives free).
February 11-19 Spot the Pot museum trail. Free entry. Suitable for children aged four upwards.
February 11: Essex Rocks, free 10am-4pm. Visitors can handle rocks and fossils to learn about their hidden history. Book www.chelmsford.gov.uk/museum-events or 01245 605700.
February 14: Messy Crafters, children aged 18 months to four.
February 16: Creative Crafters, make a Neolithic-style beaker out of clay for children aged five to 10. Workshops 10.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm and 2.30pm. £3 per child.
Saffron Walden Museum
February 15 and 16: Belt up in Style. Make a medieval belt, learn about how medieval folks wore them. 11am-1pm. Drop-in sessions, children must bring an adult. Entry, adults £2.50, over-65s £1.25, under-18s, free.
Exhibition: Completing the Look, 300 Years of Fashion Accessories. Tues-Sat, 10am-4.30pm, Sundays 2-4.30pm. Entry, as above.
Saffron Screen: Ballerina (U) February 11 and 12 at 2pm.
Chesterfords Community Centre: Willy Wonka (U) February 15 and 16 at 2pm. Original film starring Gene Wilder. HyperFusion running activities before the film. Themed refreshments on sale.
