Year-long event to celebrate 400-year-old bible

2011 marks the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible. To celebrate this publication, St Mary’s Church, Saffron Walden is hosting Bible 2011.

The year-long event will encompass a programme of activities starting with a talk by Eamon Duffy, professor of the history of Christianity at Cambridge University on Friday February 11 at 8pm inside the town’s St Mary’s Church.

Refreshments available from 7.30pm – admission is free.

Elsewhere, an exhibition of some of the historic bibles in the care of the town library will be displayed in the library during March.
