Norman wisdom

CHILDREN will be able to discover what life was like for the Normans at a free event being held at Saffron Walden Library.

Those who take part in the Norman Day - on Saturday Setpember 18 from 2-4pm - will be able to take part in a treasure trail, create a tapestry and make up they own Norman name.

Customer services supervisor at the library, Ruth Stickley, said: “This is a great way to get involved in some exciting activities and an opportunity for children to learn about the Normans both in relation to Saffron Walden and on a national scale.”

The event is being held in conjunction with the BBC Hands on History Normans Season.
