Thaxted theatre company saved at the 11th hour

THAXTED Chronicle Players have been saved from the chop at the 11th hour.

The theatre company met last week with a view to winding up amid flagging interest.

However, it was not curtains after all after new officers were unanimously elected.

A spokesman said: “The Players formed in 1951 and have an illustrious and it was this that moved the new executive to action. It was agreed that the history and this community resource were too valuable to lose without a fight.”
