The Mirror Crack’d by Agatha Christie will be at Cambridge Arts Theatre from March 19-23.

It stars Susie Blake (Coronation Street and Mrs Brown’s Boys) and Simon Shepherd (Peak Practice).

First published in 1962, the story is set in a quiet, English village rocked when Hollywood arrives with a beautiful film star and a murder happens at a house she has bought from Miss Marple’s friend.

After the death, everyone gives Miss Marple a different account of what took place leading up to the death and she has to unravel fact from fiction.

The novel received good reviews on publication, for “the shrewd exposition of what makes a female film star tick”.

The new play, adapted by Rachel Wagstaff from the book, explores how our memories are coloured to help us deal with unhappy truths.

Shows at 7.45pm with 2.30pm matinees, Thursday and Saturday. Tickets from 01223 503333 or www.cambridgeartstheatre.com.
